cute!still nothing from egg two![]()
Option #1 If you can't or won't put them outside. do you have a room you could securely lock the dogs out of, with a window for natural light & ventilation 'til they are big enough to go outside?Well nacobi and Kohle figured out how to open the shed which is my chicken coop they got a rooster who protected the hens and a few other instances too where they got hold of a chicken dinner but they are still alive we did some e collar training but when I am not around it is totally out of sight out of mind

Is this how it's been the entire time?No the imcubator is to tiny
I have it in a tuppor where bin with bedding and a heat light
Not to much. Had a bunch of chicks hatch and two ducklingsGood thank you! Long time since you have been here!
What's new?
I hope you put that egg back in the incubator! You don't have to spritz it every hour either.
Close enough.
I an really going to need that extra cup today!
If you reduced it to powder how would you feed it to them?@casportpony
Is there any reason not to reduce worm pellets to powder ?
As I was afraid they might, the birds have picked out the pellets; either dropping them in the dirt or leaving them piled in the mouth of the feeder.
x2 Does that make me red or blue, according to SC?Sounds fabulous.
If the hatch is staggered. (eggs contributed after she started setting) She won't make the chick wait more than 2 days to take it out for food an water. She'll abandon unfinished eggs to care for the live chick/s.
That's why they don't lay eggs after going broody.
X2
WOW!!!
My incubator can hold 200 but the hatcher only holds 50 so I have to do staggered settings.
I'd try about 25mcg selenium and 50iu vitamin E twice a day.
If the chicks came straight from a hatchery, they probably don't need quarantine. If they came from a feed store where dozens of people with chickens handled them, I'd keep them separate for a month to see if they come down with something.
Don't worry about it.
Birds have been hatching out of eggs for millions of years without human intervention.
If they don't hatch on their own, they weren't meant to. Coddling weak birds doesn't do them or the breed any favors.
I don't think I could even post on this site from a phone. Give me a full keyboard. 2 thumbs doesn't get it.
