Hi everyone! Been busy lately, not much to report anyway

Today is day 30 for my first 4 Emu eggs! Which means I should start seeing wiggles in the next 3-5 days if they're alive in there

sweet!!!!!!

Morning everyone! Thought I would share how the coop renovations are going. The brooder is done, just needs doors and screen.

I confused... Can't remember what posts were quoted.

I am even more confused

when the moms sees it she pecks at it
Blood Red chickens = food

Oh, here's something I can share! My broodies have been busy ladies! Two down, two to go, unless someone else decides to sit, which they probably will. I keep a stash of eggs just for my broodies this time of the year, if I don't stock pile them, they all start sitting and I run out of eggs for them

Hope everyone is well today! Just got caught up here. I've been meaning to get an update to @Sally Sunshine and some updates on our coop build so I finally got some construction pics:

This will be our bantam tractor. It's kind of a beast lol That's why my husband will be moving it

Anyone care to take a guess on what my husband used for the window frame?
So let's see- it's been insulated, and next up will be finishing the sliding ventilation contraptions my husband has devised, then roof, hardware cloth, wheels, ramp, and where the tools are sitting will be a flower box

...then paint. Ugh. Still a ways to go yet!

Hatching update: I have 10 Marans (my flock) on day 19 in lockdown.... 4 more that also jumped in the bator now on day 16. Round 2 of shipped bantam Cochins came packed fantastic but all had loose or completely detached air cells. None are developing day 6

I question my sanity with these shipped eggs but I'm going to keep trying I think.

how does it look
like its gonna die, where the heck is its beak?????????? and did you even look at the assist article on how to do it?????

Quote: YES!~~~!!!! CH where is its beak?????

I thought I was suppost too. 2. The little white dot.3. She is a good mom she has two already under her and she only pecks at the blood. And shell I guess trying to help it out
Thank you for answering all the questions.

If I were you, I would bring it inside and put it in your incubator.

With it bleeding and open shelled it has a greater chance of infection, or the mom killing it.

That chick's best bet is to be in a clean, warm, moist environment. I would give it 24 hours to hatch on it's own, but you may have removed to much shell for that to be possible.

If it's not out by tomorrow continue following the assisted hatch guide.

I don't have and incubator ready and no where to put it yet.I promise it's not just excuses

Pretty sure the guy at tractor supply thinks I really am the crazy chicken lady...he's the one that helps me every time I'm there...& he hasn't even seen half of my chicks lol.

And I MIGHT have just dug down into our big outdoor trash container a bit so I could better hide the tractor supply chick days box from my husband!!
