Cats are great. Our local power plant has two man-made lakes that assist in cooling the plant - Lake Braunig and Lake Calaveras. Because of this, temps in the lakes run warmer than usual. Lovely lakes and stocked with catfish and red drum (also striped bass and crappie). Lake Calaveras is where I fished every single weekend for a very long time - lots of local folks fish there on weekends to feed their families. I could set up both my rods in their holders with nothing but spoons, and then begin to paddle to the other side of the lake to my favorite spot. It must have been perfect trolling speed, because I always found one or two catfish on the line when I got to my destination. Those were some really good catfish...

I have a small (3 1/2 acre) pond about 400 yards through the woods behind my house, and I rarely ever fish it... even though it has some pretty nice Largemouth Bass, Bluegills, and Crappie. I prefer to eat catfish, and have often thought about converting it to a cat pond. Just don't want to have to go down there and feed them...

I suffer from CRS... but I can't remember what that stands for.

No need to hate saying that. Not everyone likes catfish, so that leaves more for me! I can only eat them if they're cooked Southern Style... rolled in seasoned cornmeal and deep-fried golden brown. I like Bluegill as long as they're large enough to filet. Don't like all the small bones and the skin tastes a bit musky. I love Crappie, but my pond isn't really big enough or have enough baitfish for them to grow a large as I'd like... so they're basically in the same category as Bluegill when it comes to bones. I never have a problem with people not liking the same food I like, nor do I have a problem with me not liking what they like. Take chitterlings for instance. No, please... take them!!!

You're a Southern boy & you don't know how to spell "chitlins" yet? Shame on you

You ever try seasoning that cornmeal with Old Bay?
