Oh wow... I just noticed the bator looks pink! Thanks for pointing that out, MC!!!
Somehow I don't think it was the color that attracted her...just a guess

You're a Southern boy & you don't know how to spell "chitlins" yet? Shame on you

You ever try seasoning that cornmeal with Old Bay?
City boy turned country doesn't mean I have all the traits of a true Southerner. Besides, I can spell "poop chute" easier than chitlins...

Never tried Old Bay. Zatarain's Seasoned Fish Fry is scrumptious, and I don't mess with scrumptious...

Sorry if I missed it, but did you calibrate? They don't all come well calibrated - mine wasn't. There are stories of the temps being really off in some. But if you can adjust it with calibration, it holds temps and humidity very well...

Yeah, I know, but I keep putting it off - not only do I not have a good place to park it, but also a lot of the mowing is around little corners and nooks. I have myself to blame for letting it get overgrown... Which I do all the time, because I never, ever learn.

Red drum are wonderful eating and fishing. I had one on the line that gave me an ENORMOUS fight - when I finally got it to the kayak, it was only 9" long! The rules are a bit strict for them, but I have dreams of buying and then actually getting to use the bonus red drum tag you can buy along with your Texas license - lets you take one additional red drum over 28" (the max size over which you have to throw them back). I can't imagine what that must be like if the 9" one fought so hard - I might as well get the Tarpon tag!!!!

I have a second thermometer in there, My humidity has been a TAD high, I don't remember what its been at but I think I have it under control now, We will see, A friend is going to hatch some in her Bator, so we can figure out if its my fertility

White, what kinda trouble you been stirring up today?
Not a lot, only because I haven't been on here non-stop. Made a Lowes run late this morning; came back with 25 bags of pine bark mulch, on sale. Spent a good bit of time trying to get a PDF to download, hopefully with directions on how to remove the front deck on my Polaris 300 Hawkeye 4 wheeler so I can install a new battery,,,ain't managed to get it downloaded yet

Well Heck seams like I might have missed the steelhead ruin this year....fish are gone....they were in there hot and heavy over EASTER....but I had family up...so now there's none there.....seems odd but we had a warmer February than March....darn wish I'd have fished earlier...hope you all are having a good evening....:frow
Well that stinks, good luck at the other river.
I candled the eggs in incubator #1 tonight. Looking good. Estimated hatch date April 13.  Only had a few clear eggs. Incubator #2 i am not seeing much going on but it has not been long enough to really see anything. Estimated hatch date April 17th.

Is the second thermometer calibrated? I just asked because my temps were about 2°F lower than the reading on the bator, and humidity about 8-10% lower than the reading, which caused a really late hatch in which the air cells got way too big way fast - had to up the humidity the last few days to save them. Just ran a second hatch with a calibrated thermometer and hygrometer in there, worked like a charm. Of course it may be your fertility, I just wouldn't trust it without checking, that's all.
