Yeah I don't do decaf either...... But I quit early in the day..... Still can't sleep.... But in fairness there are several factors that keep me awake.... Pain and breathing issues amongst them

I pretty much did. I get active when I don't sleep well. Duckling made life interesting, but her smile made it worth while. Her petting the ducklings' heads in the tub was funny ( I told her to keep her hands out of the water, and she technically listened) her saying "aww!" Was to die for.

My mom just called to ask me when the chicks that she took home can go outside. I told her that they had to be feathered. She started complaining that they keep jumping out of the box and running all over her house and she doesn't have another tub that's taller. I asked if she had a screen on the top, she said no. Problem solved.

Hello new incubating friends Wish me luck! First time incubating chicken eggs in my DIY incubator. It's made mostly from stuff I already had around including: Omaha Steaks styrofoam cooler Lamp and cord from scented wax burner. Uses small socket bulbs. I'm using a 20W. hardware cloth for shelf 2l bottle for thermal mass 2 dollar store picture frames for double pane viewing window. old computer fan extension cord misc 5V DC output transformer, ie wall wart arduino (I used a pro mini) relay board (generic 2 relay module from Aliexpress) Dallas 18B20 temp sensor (and pull up resistor) NRF24L 2.4Ghz radio module OK maybe everyone doesn't have some of the last parts on hand, but I have a DIY home automation system that uses these parts as well. That's actually why there is a wireless module attached. The incubator reports back the temperature to the home automation server. If it falls above or below my preset values, it will send me a text. Here are some pics of the incubator with it's first ever batch of eggs. Looking through the lid's window. Looking at the "brains" outside the incubator. You only have to plug in to the computer to change the temperature setting. The alerts I can change via the HA system. Next steps will be to control humidity and automate the turner. If there is interest in the project, I'll start another thread, but I've seen other arduino based incubators here before.

I'm okay. I just had to face a truth I have tried to forget for ny sanity's sake. I'll get over it eventually.

Well, still hurting, but at least I'm home now. Had some takeout spaghetti from my favorite homestyle Italian place (I usually cook, but not tonight!), and am sipping some wine. I usually do thorough chicken chores for an hour each evening (scrub all waterers with soap and refill, top off all hanging feeders, and completely scoop all poop) - so I checked, and everyone's pretty ok for now - so I'll do them in the morning instead. I think I'll take my wine outside now and go snuggle with my Naked Necks or the little 8 week olds a while (the NN girls all LOVE to sit on my lap, and the newer babies are learning the joys of Mommy's knees and shoulders). Then early to bed, and hopefully get some rest and feel better in the morning... - Ant Farm

There was a part of the form that asks for your username. Then you wait forever for the transaction to go through. Then you go to a thread, ask for the title you want, and wait for that.
