So they don't roll out of bed.

The chocolate covered strawberries were shipped last night, but the candle was only shipped this morning. The candle has arrived at my sisters house, but the perishable strawberries have not. FedEx is very strange.

Oooooohhhh...... I think I made a mistake.

I was digging holes for the blackberry bushes this evening - hard sweaty work, trying to go as fast as I could with no rest, trying to beat the light. I finally got all the holes dug, but only one planted before it got too dark to go on. I was both hungry and thirsty, and a little loopy to boot. So when I got inside, weirdly, I ended up reaching for whole milk instead of water. It was really good. And I was really really thirsty. So I drank more milk. And more...

Ummm... I drank almost half a gallon. At once. I feel... WEIRD. And way too full.

Guess I'm not having dinner tonight.

oh Milk OD!

@kwhites634

Hey Whites!
Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier
I was at the doc about my ankle when you asked..
High ankle sprain, no breaks!
Using the boot when at home or driving. Major PITA when trying to accelerate or brake.
Got a 'soft brace' that I will have to wear for six to eight weeks, but at least it fits in shoes and my cowboy boots!
And more physio. My physio terrorist just smiled at me today when I walked in, didn't ask any questions, just read the docs referral, and then attempted to make me cry.
She almost succeeded.

Sorry about the news on your sister. It is not easy when those close to us start to fade, been there. Not fun, or comfortable to experience, especially with a sibling.

starting to think you have the hots for this physioterrorist!!!!

Don't even know how far behind I am. Not going to try and catch up but just post a update. @Sally Sunshine 9 eggs went under broody yesterday. And 28 went into the LG sat night. Have another hen that went broody who is currently on a empty nest. Hopefully work will calm down a bit tmrw and I can rejoin the banter.

Morning everyone morning whites, I am off for a bit, I cant keep my eyes open

It does! It does! After initially being too full, I felt fine, and I then I woke up feeling great! :clap

Unfortunately, I have found that most folks that produce milk also have their own chickens and SELL eggs, rather than needing eggs. I have an indirect kind of thing set up instead - my friend, who gets raw milk from the same farmer that I do, buys extra milk for me, and then trades it to me for eggs.

That's really cool. Remind me again exactly what you did (if you don't mind)? I'd like to cut and paste it in a document, in case I ever get around to getting quails and start hatching...

:hugs :hugs :hugs

This is SO funny!!!! :lau  Nice to have something to laugh about to help you (temporarily) forget about feeling rotten...

The latest group of chickies (2 weeks old) have just figured out the whole flying thing, and are flying back and forth in the brooder like little sparrows, just for the fun of doing it. (They're not doing it out of fear of me, they do it when they are playing and don't know I'm watching. They stop and try to look nonchalant when I come in.  ). It's precious, but they are SO enthusiastic, I'm actually a bit worried they'll hurt themselves bouncing off the hardware cloth like that. I think that after this batch I may redo the brooder panels and cover with either that plastic hardware cloth or window screen instead of hardware cloth...

I think I meant to quote or respond to some other posts, but I can't remember or find them now... Oh well.

OK, I gotta head out. I have work, then a doctor's appointment (check up, but likely to involve waiting room time suck - bringing a book). Then chicken chores, then blackberry planting, then grading exams. I've also gotta round up my processing stuff (I don't keep it all set up) so I can get this mean cockerel processed in the next few days. So, busy, busy day.

Have a great day, everyone!!! :frow

I simply heated some cider vinegar in the microwave(a few seconds) and checked with my meat probe that it was 100 F.
Then I let the eggs sit in the bath for 5 minutes, and rinsed with the same temp water.

Stuck in the bator immediately

:hugs
