Yup...he's a smart kid lol - also reminds me of when he was 3...he wanted a cookie after dinner but hadn't eaten his green beans...I said "You haven't even touched your green beans!" And he looked at them...places his finger on one of the green beans and says "ok...I'm toooouuuching themmmm!"

Too smart for his own good I tell ya!!

Nothing yet! Mower won't start.

24 h.p Briggs engine
Was cranking, but wouldn't fire. Now it won't even crank. Hit the switch, and nothing.
Battery checks out good.
Heard something that didn't seem right; seemed to be coming from the starter, but can't be sure. Tried tapping on the starter...still nothing.
Now I'm thinking bad connection at the starter end of the cable coming from the battery.
Could it be the solenoid?
Any ideas?

If it's not firing check all your connections and spark plug. Plug might be dirty or need replaced. Is the battery charged? Did you try jump starting it?

Had the battery checked yesterday evening...showing 12+ volts. Had already had it on trickle charge overnight.
Haven't tried jumping it yet.

Whites...my husband is a mechanic...this is what he just said:

It's best to check with volt meter starting at battery. Make sure at least 12.4v. Then check voltage at solenoid making sure it's within .5v of battery voltage then check voltage at starter while cranking making sure battery voltage stays above 12.4
If all that checks out its the starter

If it'll jump than it's probably the starter thats bad. I think they can be tested though.
