For those that provide water for their animals from garden hoses. Do you concern yourself with chemicals from the hoses if you aren't using potable water/marine hoses?

I honestly had not thought about it before... Hmmmmm.....

That being said, I do tend to let it run, to clear water that has been sitting in the hose, before filling.
 
They're not approved for potable water. My biggest concern is that I keep them pressurized. So I'm sure the chemicals are in the water stored therein.

It used to concern me, and I even looked into getting "safe" hoses, but decided they were too expensive.

They contain PVC and lead.
Lead free are very expensive and especially for 200+ feet.
I think they're about $2 a foot.
