Thanks , i hope your feeling better , it sucks and i cant seem to find a minute to just lay down lol , but ill survive i guess , maybe if i start crying grandma will make me soup haha

I figured I'd use two to confirm each other. But I will try to calibrate.

If they are both wrong than your average will be wrong. Even if one is right and the other wrong your average will still be wrong. Same goes for the thermo's. Doesn't matter how many you have if they are wrong.

I love the western part of your state. We used to drive all the way there from here just to camp near where North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia meet on the Chatooga river just up the road from Oconee State Park in South Carolina.  In the Cashiers, Sapphire, Highlands area are some awesome waterfalls. We backpacked to the top of one of the highest in the East. I think it was Tom's Creek Falls but can't remember for sure.

On highway 64 on the way to Bridal Veil falls from Highlands, there's an awesome wine bar and restaurant called 'On the Veranda' with a screened porch the length of the building perched over Lake Sequoyah.
Anyone familiar with the area?

How about lobster tails and asparagus in butter wrapped in foil to go along with grilled filet mignon. That's what my wife brought the first time we camped at the place I described above. That's before we were married. We've always eaten well on campouts. Simply, but well.

We love the western part of the state also. Not familiar with the specific area you are talking about but we spend a decent amount of time in Western NC/Eastern TN. Haven't ventured into SC yet. Growing up in NW Alabama both the wife and my family vacations were spent in the smokies. We got stationed here about 8 years ago and it only seemed natural to continue the tradition with our family.

I agree with Chaos sounds like ya'll eat pretty good.

So if i were to look at ducks, i want pretty, and docile, but also need to be able to fend off a german shepherd. Don't care about egg production

What breed?

I looked at one on some site, I'll have to look at Meyers

American Livestock Breed Conservancy has one too.

They were hatched earlier than 21 days, I do have them on an auto turner.they are bantam eggs as far as size goes. They were shipped eggs, so I honestly don't know if they could be old. I let them relax for a day when I got them, then I put them in the incubator. I live just outside of Los Angeles County in California. It's not humid here at all but I'm not quite sure what the humidity is.
Bantams leave out the large egg theory - unless they're large for bantam eggs.
Hatching earlier than 21 days leaves out the low temperature possibility.
Living in So. Cal. leaves out high ambient humidity.
Are you sure the hygrometers are correct?
The only thing left is older eggs.
How was the hatch rate?
I would lower humidity in the future. Try dropping it 10% for the next hatch until you know for sure the hygrometers are correct.
Take your hygrometers outside, put them in a protected area (out of the sun) after a couple hours, go to Accuweather and enter your zip code to see what the current humidity is and compare it to your hygrometers.

I use two different hygro's to confirm.and have like 4 thermostat

X2
I'm here to attest to that. I had 3 hygrometers, 2 of which were calibrated. Calibration lasted a day. They were all junk and I threw them away. I weigh till I can afford a real one.
They weren't just off, they were WAAY off. Like about 50% off.

I had 5 thermometers, two from an incubator company. None of them agreed and until I got a thermoworks that agreed with the Brinsea spot check did I know what the actual temperature was. I threw all the rest away.

Good morning all! Sad funerals, awesome camping, great recipes for camping! Lots going on this morning. I'm sorry MC, I hope today gets easier for you.

Well, my traveling eggs have arrived. Just 1 day late. 3600 or so miles out of their way, they are here. I have 2 boxes at the PO, I'm waiting till they open. The nice lady from the PO called to tell me they had the packages. I asked why they BOTH went through the Kent, WA post office, but ONE came straight here and the other went to AL first. She asked me "why did it go to AL?".....

Well, in 30 minutes or so I will see how bad the extra traveling treated the box of eggs. Is it bad that I am hoping for oozing?
