Good evening ladies and gents. Been offline for a bit as mama and I took off on a little excursion with the boat chasing blue cats. Had a great time now it's back to the grind. Our does are getting ready to throw kids and expect the first one to go in the next day or two. Should wrap up around mid May. Always got babies being born around this place. LOL. All the chickens/ducks are laying like crazy too.

Had a fella a few miles east of us come with an odd request. He had a Lamancha/NGD bottle buckling that the mother passed away after birth and wanted to know if we wanted him. I offered to set him up on how to care for it and would stop in to help him. He didn't want to screw it up so I offered him $50 for him. Nope he was adamant no money. Sweetest little bottle baby around.

Well gotta run. Got some big ol ribeyes on the smoker getting a little smoke before I put a sear on them. Mushrooms, baked beans, corn on the cob, citrus salad. Mmmmmm. All the kids are here for dinner tonite.

In lock down! It's only day 19 and I have 3 pips!
High temps.

go Chickies

. What type are they and how many made it to lockdown?

It finally rained. A gentle, mostly all day rain.

Never incubated before. How did I do on equipment. $50 got me

2 little giant still air with rotating trays. One needs a little tlc, but I am sure I can get it to work fine.
1 rusted out water and 1 useable water
1 Water heat pan
And the coolest candler ever!

Quote: agree and sanitize them well, sunshine beating on them thereafter on a nice day too!

Hey all. Been away far too long for a readback bit stopped in to say I got my first Serama egg!
CONGRATS!!!!!

Good morning all! Thank you Banti for the great recap!

In my city we have to apply for a permit to dig a well. They only allow a couple of them each year. We're waiting for our turn. Reclaiming grey water from your house is banned. You can ONLY collect water from the washing machine if the machine is on an outside wall. California is a Nanny state, but this city is ridiculous in their babysitting everyone. We don't get enough rain to collect it in rain gutters.

Technology is cool.....In locations that have humidity, but no drinkable water, these billboards were designed to collect water from the atmosphere. They get barrels of clean drinking water out of it.

I set LOTS of eggs last night.

I moved all the eggs out of the LG over to one of the Brinseas. I added all my new eggs to the other Brinsea. I am also hatching a bunch of eggs for Gotro17. I have 40 of her eggs in HER incubator that I moved to my house. I have 20 of her eggs in my Brinsea.

So, @Sally Sunshine my totals are now.

I moved 17 Auto-sexing EEs, 11 Frizzled EEs and 6 shipped silkies into lockdown (No longer my "Death Bator" bator)
I have 15 Blue Wheaten Sulmtaler set on 4/9, 17 BCM, 24 Mille Fleur D'uccle and 6 Black Crested Polish set on 4/15, 12 Blue Buff Cochin, 4 BCM, 13 Olive Eggers, 2 Biefielders, 4 CCLs and 10 of my silkie eggs set on 4/19 and 60 eggs from Gotro17 - Lavender Orpingtons, Lavender Cochins, and BCMs also set on 4/19. Shellee's chicks will hatch here, then go back to her house.

So, I have 2 Brinseas and 1 Hova bator full to capacity incubating, and 1 Incuview hatching. The LG was emptied and turned off. We'll use it for hatching, trying to keep all the babies separate.

I was 200 or so posts behind when I started this post, and I'm 10 posts behind now. This thread is busy today!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Bliss lost her plug yesterday but evidently she's on her own time but she's a FF so I have no way to base her history. Daughter put her in a birthing pen and I personally think she's got another day or two so I let her back out so she could exercise.
