Yep that's exactly what happened in California last summer. Devastating. You realize how insignificant your problems are when you hear about people loosing everything in the fires, including beloved pets.

Sounds like Texas 'til they finally got so much rain they've been flooded. the weather's been crazy lately

Friends of ours in Santa Clara had issues last year with wild fires.
California and Alberta have similar terrain, hills, mountains, large tracts of grasslands, not surprising they have similar fire issues.
It is pretty humbling when you talk with someone who has been affected by events like these, most of your problems seem pretty small at that point.
And Texas has been in drought conditions for years, just like areas in California. Then when the rains come, the earth is so hard pan, it can't absorb any moisture. It is nuts!

Your teens may seem ungrateful for all you do for them but I believe kids listen to their parents FAR FAR FAR more that they want you to believe they do.

One of my teen DDs made this cake last mothers day. She is at college this year in the UK and mid exams, but did remember what day it was in the US and sent a text. Take what I can get!
