Yup.... I am a night person 8:30 here in San Diego and I am rammin around trying to find something to do... that isnt work.

Probably will go to the grocery store. so much easier to poke around in there after the kiddies are in bed.

I just finished with the horses, but might go to bed early tonight. I'm tired! I'm on a tough diet too, for different reasons, but I wish it was easier to shop healthy....

Okay, it's about a foot across and appears to hold 28 regular size chicken eggs.

I wish it was a shrink ray...I've always wanted a shrink ray.....

I have one like that in my pile! I've never tried to get it going though. It had too much wrong I think. It would be better to make a coolerbator that you can see into.

Yep. A Turn X6. So far, seems to be holding a very steady temp. Apparently, you unscrew the water bottle a little at a time to add humidity....I need to find a hygrometer with a probe so I can stick it through a little hole where I unscrewed a knob to get the brinsea spot check thermometer in.

I have the hundred egg model and use it as a hatcher they work as good as any still air . I relined mine took out the pancake and replaced it with an digital thermostat and a PC fan and of the three I have it is the one I trust the most heats up quicker holds humidity better but you can't put a auto turner in it . well I guess you could if you cut it down , aint no way you would ever get one in that one . but don't sell it short . most of the time they are not that hard to fix .

Hello all just set my first duck eggs on Friday and have read different things about humidity on just about every website. I need some expert advice. So here I am

The paper they threw in with the eggs from the hatchery said to keep the humidity up to 86% and 94% at hatch! That seems super high to me.(My guess is this is for the commercial hatcheries?). I have looked and looked through the threads but it is hard for me to know just what a duck needs. (this is my first duck hatch and I'm a wreak already) haha. I will second guess my every move, that's just my nature. So from what I gather so far is 45-50% is ideal until hatch and hatch is 70ish? ?? Whats the expert advice here?

I've followed the Storey Guide to Raising Ducks by Dave Holderread with success.
