@Sally Sunshine

With my lockdown starting tomorrow I have about 30 minutes once i take them out of the bator to candle the eggs and lay them flat and up the humidity and everything right? Also do you recommend laying them on their sides or keeping them upright in cartons?

watch for variations overnight too! and dont worry about the candling! they will do what they are going to do without it.

My niece crows like a rooster when she goes out to the coop
awesome!

I did my handling and out of 25 we have 22 baby's I could see them wiggling and see there eyes day seven now
good news that the temp spikes and drops didnt effect them!

Awesome! I will be doing my day 18 candle and lockdown tomorrow! So exciting!
See how fast it went!!!!!!!!!!
I wanna see them eggsies!!!!

lol Ren has a pole going on another thread I posted on earlier! Mark lowest dip in aircell and put an X toward the left of it a bit, this is the place they will pip. seee below

I will copy paste so I dont have to type it all out again, and images from that HAL hatch of my eggies.... read below

The poll is sure going in the way of laying them on their side. It's been recommended to hatch them in paper egg cartons when the air cells are whacky. I've got some reeealllly bad air cells with this bunch

and more reason to lay them down for hatching, this saddle shape could cause them to not be able to turn to pip and be malposition, some mals do pip and get out. in a carton what are their chances if they pip against the carton where you have them setting? any shipped egg that has survived to day 18 for lockdown can be layed horizontal down to hatch... their are plenty of facts to back up what I have written in the article should you research yourself.

@Sally Sunshine I quickly candled tonight when I got home. One internal pip & two un-pipped. :love. How long before I need to worry if it doesn't externally pip?

Thank you all again for your support!

I'm Using Little Giant incubator from Tractor Supply with automatic turner.

I'm Incubating my own eggs. But I'm waiting on some eggs from a friend. She's sending me some Cream Legbar and some Black copper Marans.

Cgbond, that's the kind of Bator I have, but my hatch wasn't so successful. ..50% :( What do you use for a thermometor, and for a hygrometer? The bator's built in gages are way off...especially the humidity.
