I'm not Sally... lol!... but I may be able to help. Brooder: 90F-95F. Meds are optional. If brooder is sterile and eggs were clean, you may not need to use medicated feed. It only helps prevent coccidiosis. If chicks develop cases of diarrhea, then switch to medicated. Paper towels first, shavings later. Baby chicks may eat the shavings and come down with impacted crops. Bulb: a heat lamp is recommended, but a 60W bulb can be used if it's in an enclosed brooder. Monitor temp closely and adjust ventilation accordingly. Hope this helps...Sally....what temp for my brooder? Med or unmed starter? Pine shavings OK or paper towels only? What watt bulb and how far away?? Lol
