Just listening to NPR, and preparing for 10 guests tomorrow! What you up to?

bored, was playing with the kids now they are on electronics, go figure
they dont feel like doing the christmas tree.... I used to love decorating the tree!

I candled 13 of my Serama eggs. Threw out two blood rings, but everybody is fertile.

I'll look at the other three tomorrow. The water pump in the incubator seems to have broke. Not too much of a problem now, but I'm not sure how I'll add the right amount for the last three days.

@Sally Sunshine You mentioned at some point what you like the humidity to be for your Serama during lock down, but I don't remember what you said. I'm going to have to figure out a way to manually control it this time around. To figure out what's wrong with my bator, I'd have to take it all apart.

I do kind of remember that... I'll go look. The tricky part is that these plastic incubators are so tight. No little places to stick a small bit of tubing through anywhere. I don't think it's worth the risk of trying to fix though...do you think? The eggs would have to be out of it.

Can day old Silkies eat ground 15?
Sure they can and will eat what you give them, however for healthy chicks you really should give them a chick feed with at least 18% or more protien feed cause it will give them a good strong start.

not sure, how do those bators get any air in them? I posted the link did you catch it?

@sarisso I think I would like to explore the eggs that have no internal pip if they still show no progress when I get home tonight. Good idea? Bad idea? Advice? I'd love everybodys two cents!

Edit: also, what about the Serama with the internal pip? I hear no noise. Should I do the water test? ,(day23)

I would poke some holes yeah. But treat them all as an assist until you can see a dead chick for sure. Just in case one is alive.
