Thank you for elaborating, all I can ever associate about ducks is they hang out in water all the time so their eggs must need humidity and then after reading the flyer from the hatchery with the incredibly high humidity rates it makes one a giant confused mess

what happens is wetting of the eggs and getting off the eggs causes evaporation... its a detailed discussion actually... start reading about it in that link ......
 
I am just harassing you again amb! but we should start a debate....... to feed or not to feed white maggots black headed ??? what kind were they?

Most likely they were mealworms...folks pay good money for them at pet shops & bait shops. You can also raise your own if you compost your chicken manure.
 
Finally got my eggs in the bator. This is my 2 incubation, but my first by myself. Super excited, and I really hope I did it right.

Well I have had enough nursing Marans eggs. In the next 4 weeks I have Ameraucana and Marans next week. Marans the next, Breese and wheaten Ameraucana the next and finally, for New Years Day... Frizzle, Naked Neck, Olive Eggers! Then I am packing the incubators up!!!
