 cuz you didn't suggest it, of course...

Well, at least I offer a chance for other people to think up stuff and use their heads for something other than a pot to grow hair out of. Just saying...   :tongue

Oh... good afternoon, Bubbles!  :hugs

:lau :gig Oh. Somehow it didn't quite sound that way.....
Good afternoon to you too! :)

Veny was asking what ff with mash is, and what mash is made of. I never said I didn't want it milled... I was simply attempting to answer a question. Why you calling me stupid???   :tongue

Ok so ff is fermented feed of any sort and mash is coarse cut grains..wet? Dry?

QUESTION:

What's a safe way to get rid of bees congregating around my tube feeder w/o using wasp & hornet spray that likely wouldn't do the chickens any good? Don't really want to kill the bees if it can be helped; I believe they're honey bees. No idea what's attracted them; never seen them around the feeder til now.
they will most likely leave on there own in an hour or two. Is it a water tube?

Thanks for the tip, and I told you I would come here to this thread! Did you hang the probe through the hold in the top with the black plug? That's what I assumed it was for. And is this a current hatch of yours, or just an old pic?
I'm glad you did, but I have to tell you a secret... (there are some crazy people here). I did hang it through the hole where the wires go in. It took some doing, but I got it to go through the grommet. I took the grommet out of the hole, unplugged the control unit, and removed the cord. I pushed the probe through the grommet, and re-inserted the power cord for the heater. Plug the heater cord back in press the grommet back into the lid, and it's done.

I took that picture just before posting it. It is a current hatch (I hope) for the New Years hatchalong (HAL). The HAL's are a lot of fun because a lot of members will set eggs to hatch simultaneously. There will be an Easter HAL next year, and probably a St. Patrick's Say, Arbor Day, National Flag Day, etc........

This is a pic of my first batch:

We went out shopping for a bit after my last post. A few hours after posting complaining there hasn't been a peep/pip, and now there's a pip. Just one. But it works! Note to self, always complain about lack of pips... Always seems to work.

Best of luck to you, and may you not be too fretful over artificial incubation. It's not as easy as letting a hen brood the eggs and wait until you see chickies, but don't let it stress you, either. Keep an eye on temp and humidity, and if everything is normal, you're okay. Being able to see them is makes the waiting seem like forever!

In that case, I will start complaining when I hatch about day 3... :yesss:
