Well had a power outage on lockdown day for my Black Copper Marans so the incubator made a detour into the Volkswagen until power was restored. All is good tonight. Marans are in the Brinsea for my first hatch in that bator.

On a side note my late hatch blue Ameraucana did not make it. Never got strong enough to stand on its own.

I just started day 27 a couple of hours ago. 7 duck eggs. Also 15 chicken eggs (6 lav orp, 5 silkie, 4 comet mix) on day 20 now. Have one silkie egg pipped and 2 ducks so far.

I couldn't remember but I knew we were close. What are you running your humidity at with having both chickens and ducks? I sure hope I didn't kill my early pipper having it out like that. I've got 3 other rocking and someone is talking.

Okayyyyyy... truce.

Girl, you haven't lived until you incubate and hatch your own eggs! Well... not exactly your own eggs, but your chicken eggs! Of course, hatching your own eggs can be kind of cool, too... but it takes a lot longer, and you have to feed and clothe the brats afterwards. Then they want all of your money... and the keys to your car? Stick with chickens!!!

My neighbor had a lav roo I could have had, but a dog got it.
Such prettys.... I'm gonna try and get some lav hens next year.

Cool! I bet it didn't hurt the one you had out. It wasn't open fully, so hope for the best. How long was it out?

I'm running 65-70% humidity right now. I just hate the wait on the lazy ducks...
