lol. That'd be too easy.
I've been in a tree before that I really thought it was going to blow over before I could get down. I was in a climber then about 30 to 40 feet up. I'd wait for the wind to die down a little and go down a couple feet at the time. Gotta be honest. I was a tree hugger that day.
Nah, I'll pass, TYVM! Heck, I get nervous when I walk on a thick rug

I figure if the good Lord had meant for me to be in a tree I'd have a long bushy tail and eat nuts with buck teeth. I do just fine on the ground.

That's high in a climber! I've got a 20' ladder stand that I love! It actually doesn't even make me too nervous in the wind. Climbers make me more nervous in the wind.
And I'm with you... prefer bow hunting any day!

Good luck out there!
I've got a ladder stand, too, and I'm comfortable in it; just haven't been able to use it this year.

You just described me. Buck teeth and all.

really?...I think climber would feel safer in the wind....I have both kinds....for the longest time a climber was all I could handle with my fear of heights.

Oh yeah much prefer bow hunting...alot of years that's all I do...this year I didn't do a lot of either....next year I'll be better

Why? You only go 5' up?

My ladder just feels more stable because something is touching the ground, I guess. The climber is all dependent on the tree alone. Or maybe its just been the trees that I've experienced it in, I don't know...

I prefer a clean kill on a calm deer over a running deer any day. Adreneline causes the meat to taste gamey and be tough.
Yep, that's what I've heard. Never shot at a running deer but once. I prefer to hit 'em in the head; they either drop in their tracks or run off unharmed, and don't have to go find 'em
