Depending on what specialty cuts you get done round here it's roughly $70 (size of deer doesn't change the price either) for basic cuts and wrapped in freezer paper.

I suppose that's an industry standard... same price, no matter the size. I'm not sure how my friend's was wrapped. Yea, I think we'll stick to doing our own.

I've shot many a deer that's been run (not by dogs though) and never had any problems with it being tough or gamey. In my opinion the way it's handled after it's killed has as much to do with that. Although a clean shot a a calm deer is much preferred.

And taste just as bad!! Antelope are sagey anyway. But you run them and whatever chemical or hormones in their system releases. Nasty nasty nasty.
