It can be frustrating even when you know what you're doing. Nothing more aggravating than to have a big old gobbler sneak up behind you and having no chance at a shot. You have to sit there and listen to him drumming as he goes by... :barnie
oh that would be frustrating. Once in awhile I'll have a deer sneak up from behind. Bad thing is my hearing is terrible and I've been turning slowly trying to look behind me and get busted.

Well my early pipper is progressing. She's not exactly following protocol. She pipped early, pipped high in the air cell and her zipping seems to be going down the egg towards my 'X' and not around the egg. She's very vocal this morning.

I forgot to mention that I have quite a bit of condensation on the windows. Will it hurt her if I quickly open and wipe them dry?

what is humidity ren?

Has anyone seen significant size differences in clutch-mates? The first two chicks were hatched December 3 and 4th. The second two chicks is the small one from the 4th and another BCM hatched December 11th

I never have, we had some discussions, but these are pretty young yet Brat these are in our notes if you would end up ever needing to find them again.....

I'm no expert after one hatch, but I was amazed at how much mine grew in 24-48 hrs. Stands to reason that one born a couple days later than the first ones would be smaller. IMO, don't sweat what you can't change.

One word...HAND MIRROR.  O.K...that's 2 words...sue me
I actually use to carry a morrow with me for that reason. After not seeing anything for two seasons like that I thought it was a waste of time. The next season with no mirror, I got busted. Hasn't happened again but I may just start taking it again

X2 Although at this point with how open that pip is, I don't think I'd open the bator unless you really want to end up in full on assist... peeping is great, still making progress too, right? I've had some odd direction zippers just as long as it keeps going it should be ok...

I've seen the instant blinds with the foil on one side. That would allow you to see movement behind you, at least, if not a clear image, but I'd think that would spook a deer with the proper light.

Sometimes a single day makes a big difference when still young... I wouldn't worry if the smalller is active, eating, drinking, pooping and gaining weight...

Io is a week older than the ones on the right, and 2 weeks older than the little on the left and they're fine...
