I need to "dance" between 3 , thermometers, the one of the thermostat that indicate 39C* a digital thermo. That indicate 40.2C and an alcohol thermo. That indicate 37C! So I need to make some adjustments!
Awesome! Good luck with it!

I dont deworm unless there is a problem, it killes their gut flora. I noticed after I wormed them they were a little less healthy for a long time...

Wow that's fantastic production!
Even from my sexlinks, I usually only get 4 from 5 layers.... What am I doing wrong???

Up until 2 days ago I had 6 RSL hens, one of which was a few years old & not laying regularly every day. Before they started molting hard I'd normally get 4-5 eggs a week, some days 6. I've not fed them anything special, just laying crumbles from the local coop, and the next chicken I worm will be the 1st. My birds free range most days, so they're not running the same ground constantly. Don't know whether that makes a difference, but that's the way I've always done it, & it seems to be working.

Update: Just came from the coop...3 more eggs...that's 5/5 today. hard to complain about that.

You should always give your birds probiotics after worming to replace beneficial bacteria.

If you got 6 eggs from 5 layers, you'd be doing better than most people!!!

Kind of thinking the same thing...   ;)

yep, I just have yet to find one that isnt 10 bucks for a teeny bottle. :he
I have been using FF when it was warmer, and I think that helped! :fl

:lau
6 from 5 would be fantastic!
I'd make tons selling hatching eggs. :gig

If a bird has worms, won't feathers lose their gloss, like a dog's coat will look dull?
Not really sure to be honest. I know they will lose weight and not lay very well. After years and years of doing this I think I seen one pile once years ago have worms in it. Wormed everybody because i didnt know who it came from. After that it was back to normal.

Make your own! I feed my chickens chopped up kombucha scobies when I have extras (which they go CRAZY for!), ACV is actually probiotic (that's what "the mother" is), yogurt is cheap and easy to make....
