I just got 12 marans eggs by mail. I put them in a dark room till tomorrow. The thing is that I was told to keep humidity at 60 from the beginning. I already have eggs in the bator. How true is this.

Okay I candled and found her beak. Marked it and made a tiny hole enough for me to see. It was not the beak o found but a wing

tiniest little spot of blood so I dabbed it and it stopped I wraped her egg in a wet paper towel and put her back for a couple hours to see if maybe she will figure it out! She's still squirmy! At least I know she has enough air!

you can't see the beak at all ?it should be there if the chick is trying to pip and you hear tapping. did you candle after you piped the egg?

it's not true shoot for low forties that worked best for me. Oh lord where you live humidity is going to be a problem . try hard to keep it constant . you might want to weigh your eggs before and check weights I don't do that but others do seek help I run my styros dry for the whole incubation and spike at the first good pip and sometimes later.

thats too high! esp for marans! did you calibrate your thermo and hygros? start 25-30 and then candle day 7 and check air cell growth, its all about the air cells, adjust as needed after candle

I barely missed it I think. I think it was just a bit more to the left of where I pipped. She's definitely tapping! I didn't recandle. I just put her back! Hopefully she's out in the morning! I'm just relieved she has an air hole. I've never helped much o made a hold about the size of a BB and peeked in and just saw what looked like part of her wing. I think I barely missed her beak but I'm not gonna go poking around. I'm not cool enough. She's still very active! So that's good she breaks for about 30 minutes and then gets right back to it!!!
