what day is it, I am sorry sweetieI saw blood vessels in only 1/10 of my shipped Phoenix eggs. I am happy, sad, and mad. I knew it would be bad when I saw how they were packed, I had hoped it wouldn't be this bad though.
I am afraid to turn it even though I know I need too. Ugh!
morning!Good morning All

now yer sending it this way I suppose.Well we had our first snowing of more than a dusting and as predicted by me everybody drove like a bunch of idiots that have never driven in snow before.
Drivers around here are nuts in good weather. 1) They'll run a red light in a heartbeat; it pays to sit tight & make there are no idiots around you. 2)You can't leave a couple car lengths between you & the guy ahead; somebody's sure to jump in there. 3)The posted speed limit is the bare minimum; run the limit & get run over. 4) The guy behind you feels compelled to run up your tailpipe. 5) YIELD signs may as well not be there at all.
I was born in I guess it would be considered Northern California. Please come to Southern Calofornia when it rains....same thing, possibly worse.![]()

The eggs I've got in the bator currently were shipped via USPS. I believe they were sent out on a saturday and I got them on a monday. At the beginning of this thread @Sally Sunshine has compiled alot of good info. There is also some good info on handling and incubating shipped eggs. If you haven't read it yet, it would be worth it.So....we ordered a dozen lavender Orpington and BCM eggs from a respected breeder in CT. We are in Southern California. She said they'd be shipped Fed Ex. We naturally assumed air, that we'd be receiving them around Wednesday- letting them rest (I think I saw 24 hour recommendation recently...?), and setting Friday. I just looked at the tracking and it says estimated delivery Friday! I inspect further and it says Fed Ex GROUND. I am brand, spankin, new to all this. Is it normal to ship eggs this time of year, across the entire country, by ground? I can only imagine what they'll look like after all the handling!![]()
