The egg plant salad is a old Russian recipe it include frying the eggplant onion, then pass them trough a food processor with red sweet peppers, garlic, some herbs ( dill, parsley) salt pepper, and than slow kook the mass for 1-1.5 ours. Very very tasty!
Chopped liver
fry chicken liver with onions salt pepper and some chopped garlic.
Then you should process them with some boiled egg trough the food processor!
your sayin its mush?

thank you for hanging with us crazy bits

it is 47 degrees here.right now. tonight it will be below freezing here in louisiana
CH did you get my eggs? candle????

So I'm pretty sure the eggs were fried last night. Temperature was at 110 and I don't know for how long. I have 1 on day 22 and 1 on day 18. How long should I give each one? They both showed no movement when candled. The veins in the day 22 egg are gone and the veins in the day 18 egg are faint. The day 18 egg is from a bantam hen though.
What is the maximum and minimum range of temp I can go before killing the chicks? post #12473

see this post, you should have tried to cool them down right away. I would candle later tonight and check for life. ,
so sorry this happened, perhaps you can wrap the bator better or put it inside a large cardboad box to keep temps more stable?

Sara was here!!! gotta upload polish chick pics and project chick pics and my eggs from her and blarney!!!! blarney sent marans eggs and they just won awards at the Massachusetts show. I love these two ladies!!! so blessed to have my chicken friends!!! uploading now!!

@Sally SunshineHi, I hope the rest of your hatch went well. I have a question, how long can my chicks be without the heating lamp? I would be greatly helped time wise if I could pick mine up as I pass her in my truck, but that might mean two hours in a box in a heated cab and then my car. Thanks

you can always make a rice pack and heat it in her microwave dax.... not sure how many chicks, if its a bunch they will be fine if not hand warmers or hot water bottles wrapped in a rag????

how is your flock dax ?

I wouldn't go past 23 days. Even if they hatch after that, they'll most likely not survive long. I tossed 2 from my first bat at the end of day 22. I figured if they didn't hatch when the other 15 did, they wouldn't be as healthy as the others, so I culled them early.

I'm afraid to check the incubator temps.
Digital on the floor said 94* It's by the water, and in a corner.
Tank thermometer one said 102 in the center and the second in the top right corner said 100*
That was when I finally put the eggs in. I've played with the temps for three days. Of course I wish I had gotten a real incubator. But I didn't, so that's a moot point. I am pretty darn sure I'll be getting a new incubator soon though.
Unless "someone" wants to make me a coolerbator.
I'm thinking Auroradream, but anyone will do. I've learned a lot in the past year. I don't have the mindset to learn to make the incubator.
Ugh! It's time to learn how to clean a chicken though. That I must learn!
