Hi everyone! I watched the video of the impacted crop surgery....gross is an understatement. It looked like hay/straw she was pulling out. I have always used wood chips in with my baby chicks, but when I move them outside, I just started to use straw. I have now read that impacted crop is somewhat common with straw. Should i not use it with the 8 -12 week ones? What does everyone here use?

Once I flip them out of brooders and into the brooder building in pens at 6 weeks old, they go on straw.
