That won't do anything.

Don't hurt my friends, the snakes.
They startle me when I stumble on them unexpectedly but I love having them around.
There are no better ratters and mousers. They can get into those tight spaces where the vermin live. They do so around the clock. Cats can't do that even if they wanted to and they prefer songbirds.

There are more raccoons by a long shot per square mile in cities than in rural areas.
I'm in a large metropolitan area. We have virtually every predator here including coyote, fox, bobcats, the occasional cougar and bears are closing in.

X2 on both counts

Keep a good large Mediterranean rooster with each flock and you won't have many losses to hawks.
The meds are quite agile, alert and can fly up to meet the hawk as it swoops.
Minorcas, Spanish, Empordanesas and Penedesencas are good options.

Wow.

I love readin yer posts

I'm gonna say something that you guys will never see coming out of my fingers again.. I really don't want to go watch the Super Bowl... Not feeling it. Hopefully that will change once I get up and going...

Same here. Had invites but not feeling warm and fuzzy to the NFL right now that they allowed the Rams to move back to LA. Screw 'em.

Close but no cigar.
This from the MO Dept. of Conservation site.
To our knowledge, there have only been two human deaths attributed to venomous snakes in Missouri: a 1933 timber rattlesnake bite and a 1965 copperhead bite.

Copperhead bites aren't extremely poisonous and all hospitals have antivenin.

Create Snake-Friendly Habitat on Your Land

In general, a diversified, well-managed habitat will support a variety of both game and nongame species of animals. Snakes benefit from the addition of various kinds of shelters, such as brush piles, logs, and rock piles. These shelters will provide security for snakes and may increase the availability of food animals (mice, native rats, lizards, toads, and frogs).
Ponds built near forested areas will also benefit several kinds of snakes and other wildlife as long as the pond is properly maintained. See our Pond Improvements section under Related Information below to learn more about building and maintaining ponds on your Missouri property.

Do you have the part about pond maitenence
