@Sally Sunshine

Just wanted to share with you this picture of my Silkies 2 fertile eggs. The egg on the left is fresh & the egg on the right was incubated under broody for a 24 hour period. Note the growth started on the egg on the right just in 24 hrs.

Good. Do not try to force feed or force water him until he is warmed up. If he were mine, I would place him in a box on towels with a heating pad set to low under the towels. Heat is key in saving the critically I'll and those in shock.

So I placed him in a box with shavings and placed food and water in front of him (he is eating and drinking happily) and have a heat lamp with the lowest wattage I have. He can move to get away from the heat. Does this work?

Cool! We see that all the time on our eggs in the summer, even though we don't have any broodys. The eggs just start developing in the boxes, that's what happens when it's 110 degrees.

Wow, I have RIRs, and they are VERY mellow. My Delawares are the most aggressive, but they don't attack the others that badly. There is no roo in their pen, so not sure what they would do to him if there was.

I bought these RIR's from several different locations. One is almost 7, the others just over a year. How could I tell if they are production or heritage?

I feel the same way about Mammoth! Property was SO cheap when I lived there. Way out of range for me now, for just a vacation home.
Where did you get them? If from a hatchery or TSC they are production reds. True reds only come from breeders. These are true reds. Reese line.
