I have to word this carefully because I don't want this person to be hurt. They aren't on this thread, but others may realize whom I'm speaking of. Ready?
Someone was told to do an eggtopsie on day five!!!! She candled, and didn't see veining, so she broke it open. She was horrified (she won't be doing that again!). My anger is towards the person that told her to break open all eggs on day five that don't show veining.

well he forgot the last two years so i think i have a right to remind him a little early this year
Now see ya gotta look at it from his point of view.......YOU didn't remind him of it so technically it's YOUR fault and not his

Jessimom I am moving 6 of my silkie eggs into lockdown tonight. I have 12 shipped Blue/Splash silkies and 2 shipped Buff Brahma eggs set to hatch 2/20. Candled the silkies last night, 1 blood ring, 2 possible clears. One was doing back flips in the shell, and the rest had good veins. I have 14 more Buff Brahmas and 7 shipped Biefielder/Cream Legbar cross eggs that are set to hatch on the 25th.

Here's what I got so far.
I am thinking.... what would it cost to get that thick foam hard insulation board and some cheap plywood to make a box? as long as you seam it up at the insulation edges you may have a better set up for a turner.

my birthday isn't untill March 24th but i have been reminding my husband since last month.
LOL gotcha!!

is this the same bator Kathy uses?>>????

Yes, the R-Com 20.

Zippy Chick is out and declaring her domain over all. The one with the larger hole was clearly still stuck to the membrane (I think it's what folks call shrink-wrapped), so I helped him out - heaven knows how long it had been since he had pipped, it was toward the floor.

For the two malpos that I helped that bled a little (so that I stopped) - both are breathing, cheeping, and beaks are out of the hole. How long should I wait before trying again?

I was so paranoid about opening the incubator during lock down. It didn't occur to me the consequences of not seeing a pip. When I realized some pips were happening underneath, I should have quickly opened the incubator and turned them all upwards, so I could monitor them. So stupid...

my grandma always said that if he forgets a date it is your fault for not reminding him.
So now you're saying I sound like an old lady?

We have pretty good water where I live, but I still use distilled water. About $1 a gallon, and it will last for at least two incubations.
How much water do you add if a gallon only lasts for two incubations?
