U2 LindaJust stopping by today to say happy valentines to all my friends. Xoxoxo
The first 2 I did a couple of years ago turned out good. Not very good luck since then. Either I get the vein or I miss some of it.Pancakes look yummy. Do you have them with yogurt?
Saw you were thinking of caponizing and that you have someone to show you. That's great I've tried it with dead roosters a couple times now. Highly recommend doing that first. Let's just say my first attempt would have killed the rooster anyways. I'm still going to attempt it live but all eligible roosters are in the freezer.
I thought it was illegal to sell babies!![]()
Let me know how it works out.Yea I'm waiting for it to warm up a bit before going outside!!!
Speaking of fruits and nuts. I pruned most trees this weekend and fertilized them as well. More to do today. Apples are next. I did get some grafting done with the new tool my brother showed me. It works great. Much better cuts than with the pocket knife. Also going to try grafting tomatoes with it.
Is it possible to graft one specie onto another, ie. a pear to, say, an apple, to get 2 fruits from 1 tree?
We keep ours like the commercial orchards in our area do, they're espalier pruned and kept pretty much the same height and shape their whole lives.
Sort of like this:
Only difference is that they're completely freestanding. I've seen trees that are twenty years old in the monastery orchard that are still the same size and shape as you'd see in the fields..
I have heard of these.
They sell multifruit trees down here
They dont always do the best
