Out of the 7 eggs that made it to lock down all 4 Rhodebars hatched (2 female/2 male) and 3 barnyard mix that havent pipped yet will give them a few days.
also set 13 more Rhodebars amd I think 7 other eggs today for a 3/12 hatch.

That is what we use on the horse waterer, simple float system,

It would only work on a container with nipples... not the siphon/gravity fed containers. I don't think I'll ever own another tray-type water container. In fact, I bought 10 more horizontal nipples earlier today and will be going back to the Wal-Mart bakery to see how many more of the $1 icing buckets I can get. They're PERFECT for building water containers, and just right for storing seed and feed in!

I got tired of filling sheep water every morning and night, installed some floats like this and a guard so the sheep can't rip it off, and now I just dump and scrub the buckets once a week. So much easier...

Eggtopsy results:
3 very dead eggs, fluid visible on candle 2/3. They have been dead for a while.... One looks infertile, the other looks like degraded embryos. Nothing that looks remotely like a chicken in there. *phew*




End result: 0 hatched, 11 infertile and 4 duds.

Thanks for the heads up!! Totally forgot it was day 19!

Humidity is up. Eggs in cartons ready for hatching but will leave in turners until I see a pip. It is still day 19.
The light eggs all look fine. The dark ones are too dark to see anything. Not 100% sure that any actually developed at all but will find out soon.

As I need to separate eggs for hatching I just put this "hatching cage" together, plus a couple of accessory cages.

Well, I might be able to get a dozen bantam eggs from a neighbor, just waiting for an answer now on pricing & avalibility. He has OEGB mutts, which I love....

That is true... to a certain extent. Life isn't always easy, but if we think about it long and hard, we can find ways to make it a little easier. This is in no way connected to those that want life to be completely easy with no effort on their part, because I have no use for people like that. I work for what I have, and when I can work smarter and not harder, I do. Perhaps I should have said I like to do things smarter, because it makes it easier to accomplish my goals. Yeah... that'll work!
