Argh, my 1202 is giving me grief

I think it must have a loose wire. Last night, the temp dropped to 75. We caught it early and a smack on the side got it hearing up again no problem. It was fine at 10 last night when we went to bed. Got up at 6 and it was down to 69! Another smack got it going again. I love this bator but at the same time, it's killing me! The eggs were cold this morning so it's taking forever to get back up to temp. I just how I didn't lose many

the thing is half full and I have a bunch of eggs coming this week to throw in it.
Eggs were probably fine on the inside, where it counts.
Loose wire sounds plausible, but 'stat might be headed south, too.
'Ol Tucker finally managed to find his way all the way to the top of the ramp; two nights in a row, actually.
After me physically putting him in the coop for two nights running, DW spotted him perched at the top of the ramp one morning, and he was busted!

@LocalYokel

My Dom babies that hatched on 1/18. So roughly 4.5 weeks old. Not sure whats up with the inner set of toes on the one boy.

Might the feet have been pressed against the shell just right as they were developing? Sounds kinda far-fetched, I know. Be interesting to see if it carries on to the next generation.

Pretty sure the Snap Switches like to fail in those.

Not sure that there is a "replacement"

What's a snap switch? I'm not electronically gifted here lol

I did just replace both wafers in it about a month ago with beams new ones. Maybe the switches that they connect to?

I knew he would figure it out. He was probably just trying to train you! He did used to stay outside until it was almost too dark to see when he was with the main flock but I assumed that was just because he didn't want the other roosters to see him coming back in lol.

Does your DW like him?

It's possible. We shall see if he makes the cut or gets cut

I currently have 4 boys in that group and only 2 (3 at most) will make the cut.

Why bother?
I'm not going to as it doesn't seem to affect him.
