Yes, I saw that you had some pretty nasty weather there, and Ur and CH had some real ugly stuff the other night. snow and wet I can manage, tornadoes in February? not so much.

My son's in the Great Lakes (WI) and they get several every year, but not in February!

I have my first pip from the eggs in the hatcher. These are the first group to hatch that was in the cabinet when the temp failed. I think they were due yesterday but maybe they'll arrive by tomorrow.

We decided to go ahead and start weaning the boys. This week we're cutting back to two bottles a day. They're at minimum 6 weeks old and at most 10 weeks. Not sure if you can tell how much they've grown, but they're just the sweetest little babies.

Thanks to everyone who was so helpful and encouraging when I was in a panic two weeks ago.

Had an interesting find in the barn this morning....



It seems one of my LF girls and my silkie rooster must have had a date a while back. Ten little ones in the hay loft, I am guessing about a week old. All have silkie feathering down the legs, some have the beards and tufts showing a bit.
Guess that was payback for my Columbian Roo/silkie hen liaisons at New Years

No idea how they survived as there is no food or water in the loft?
Scooped em up and dropped them into the brooder when I found them. Mom nowhere to be seen.
Had to sub-divide the brooder this morning, I am expecting my Auracana chicks to start hatching tomorrow.

We also had a another 'little' addition this week...




Meet Princess, eight week old Great Pyrenees pup. We were on the breeder's waiting list, and one of the other interested parties dropped out at the last minute.

she is sweet, but will not be a puppy for long!
Mom was 100 lbs + and dad was about 120. both were about 30" at the top of the head.
she certainly aint gonna be no lap dog !

They are adorable Campin!
we have two pygmys and they are the sweetest little things on four legs.
Enjoy, but be warned, ours can get out of just about any enclosure!
