Also, if we're planning to put the eggs in tomorrow evening, should I bring them in from our cool, dark garage NOW...I know they're supposed to get to room temp prior to incubation but I've seen everywhere from 8 hours to 24hrs that people say they should sit in the house and come to room temp...

Yes, that is correct, if they are too cold when they go in they can sweat which is bad for the eggs! Good luck with your hatch!

LOL... I just use it because I like a cleaner looking container. I am not sure if it even helps as I am still trying to get that noose off of my neck but the gate has already opened...

There's that benefit too - I like neat and clean as possible as well lol

I have a little thermometer/hygrometer i'm putting batteries in right now so I can find out...do you use a 1588 as well? I know it's supposedly fool proof but I'm still going to ask a TON of questions lol (y'all have been warned!)

I don't have a 1588, I do have 1 Little Giant working, one broken, an Incuview and I just got a newBrinsea today. I know there are a bunch of others that have a 1588 that can chime in tomorrow. Questions are always welcome here, but your best bet would be to go to the first page of this thread and read all the information there. There is more information than you can possible imagine.

Have you calibrated your hygrometer yet? I have 6, and they all read differently, So, I have them marked with how far off they are. There are links on that first page on how to calibrate.

You will have so much fun with this!! Longest 21 days ever!!!

My house is 35%, and that works for me. If you want to do a dry hatch, then don't add water. At your 5 or 7 day candle (I don't candle at day 5 - I wait till day 7), you can see how your air cells look. Then you can add water if you need to. Again on your next candle, you see how the air cells are and adjust again.

Our low outside right now is 57 and it's a bit warmer than that in the garage...we'll only get down to 46 outside tonight, so they should be ok and I'll bring them all in, in the morning.

I'll definitely go read that first page too - I think I did the other day but now I have myself on information overload lol can't remember what I read or where!

I think I'm probably overwhelming myself by looking at TOO many options and then questioning myself. (Sigh...) lol
