All chicks were hatched and shipped Tuesday night. Arrived Thursday. It strikes quick so the one pictured is the only one looking bad, but only one looked bad last night and three were dead this morning.

update update!! @Sally Sunshine 4 pips, and 10 chicks! The chick I made a peek hole at is out and about and doing well. These guys are big and soft and I love them so much!
EEEEeeeeeEEEEeee!!!! How absolutely adorable!!! I'm coming to steal them!! Widdle wound poofballs MUST be mine!!! :weee :love Can you get size large pics of them? I need to stare at that cuteness all day. :love :love :love :love :love

Hello everyone, I'm new here. I have a conundrum I'm hoping y'all can help me solve. I'm hatching some eggs from my ducks and I'm on day 17. I was told that ducks take 28 days but I've recently learned that muscovies take about 35 days.
Here's the problem...
I have no idea how long to expect these eggs to take to hatch.

I think my ducks are a mix of half muscovy and half something else. They don't quack, but they don't have any growth on their faces either. This pic has 2 males and 2 females.
Can anyone help with an id? Mine looked exactly like muscovies when they were ducklings. Any other breeds look that way?

I will get better pics once the hatch is complete, But you can click the pic to make it bigger.

Quote: Oh, he promptly crowed as loud as I've ever heard him about 30 seconds later (flapping his wings as a prelude). But I was struck by the fact that the wing flapping was so loud it woke me up. He's pretty big with big wingspan, and I think it woke up the primitive part of my brain that heard the sound and feared that an eagle was coming to eat me... I was very startled and woke up a little scared, more so than one would expect for the sound itself.

Quote: I think for Corid to be effective, it needs to be in water alone (no other stuff in there). I'd make up a new batch of Corid in water, and no other additives. I think you may be risking it not working.

Quote: Not sure I'd use all of them at the same time. Almost all sick birds will be dehydrated, so if the stuff you've added to their water is causing them not to drink, it's just making matters worse.

I've certainly had chicks (healthy and not) who have avoided water with ACV or electrolytes/other "good" stuff in it. I use plain water almost all the time now. Just my experience.

I have a small problem with my new Brinsea.....I don't have enough eggs!!!!! I fit 30 eggs with the rails on one side, the other side is getting all small eggs and WAY more than 30 will fit. I wasn't going to use the rails on that side, and it's only 1/3 filled. Where can I get more eggs to fill it - do I try Trader Joe eggs?

I'm thinking she wants a poster-sized pic to hang on the wall!  :gig

BINGO!!! ;)

@Saris- I can almost FEEL how soft this one is. And the stripes are just too much!!! I love the widdle chipmunk back!! I like the pic, hands always give proportion really nicely.

I'm going to stare at chicky pics for 21 days.... While I'm not hovering over the incubator.... :love

I have a sister in law that works at her parent print shop, posters could be arranged. Hahaha
