Thanks!!! I am very happy with the turn out. I cannot even get a better hatch with my incubator.. I need about 20 more pullets to hatch out this spring so I can replace my old flock
Wow, you had to replace your entire flock? Did something happen, or did they all age out? I had to start with a new flock, but I only started with half, now I'm hoping to add a few more every few months. Good luck with your quest for pullets!!

Love all yall.

Thanks yall for your kind thoughts, prayers and words.

He indeed does have the Congestive Heart failure and has lived already over twice as long as they gave him. He's stubborned like that tho!

Pops has been discharged. They got all the fluid out of his cavity and lungs. They refilled all his meds and gave him some other meds for the Pneumonia he still has.

He's very tired and is on his way home now.

Help!
My muscovy eggs- no idea when they were "supposed" to be due thanks to the hatchabatch app. I thought last monday. Well. The eggs I marked are wriggling today. I made a small hole in an internally pipped egg to see if it had shrink wrapped. - big nope. So i rushed it back under the empty broody and she rearranged and broke shell. I pulled those pieces off because I feared the pieces would puncture the duckling. It has NO veins, and can move around and peep, but yolk is definitely not up to date with the guy. It's not a whole lot, but it's enough that it needs another day. I can't bring it in. No inch here. I'm lost. I am wrapping it in a paper fowl and hoping for the best and prayers? Advice? I left all the other eggs around. I feel like a bad person. Im so darn used to chicken eggs. No veins in chicken egg = no yolk/ready to hatch.

After haphazardly piecing the refrigerbator together, I realized I had forgotten one tiny detail... how to control the egg turners. I thought I was going to have to bite the bullet and purchase an IncuStat Advanced thermostat, and figured I may as well get the 125W heater to go with it... and basically scrap the current design. By the time I added two Hovabator 1611's, the price tag in my Incubator Warehous carti(including shipping) was $258. A tiny voice in my head told me to pick up the phone and call IW to see if the IncuStat would have no trouble operating two 1611 egg turners, and the knowledgeable representative (Evan) informed me that the 1611 turner motors were 110V AC. Since I haven't seen any documentation (power wise) for the 161, I assumed they were 12V DC. Evan proceeded to inform me that the motors on the 1611's are designed for continuous use, and since they have such slow RPM, they will make a full revolution once every 4 hours. Since they require no controller, and only cost me $110.51... I can't ask for anything more!!!

I wish the refrigerbator had been a little over 15" front to rear instead of of 14 1/2". I'll have to remove the end trays (losing 14 slots) so they'll fit, but I think a 70 egg capacity will suit my needs for the time being...

Since my goal is to eventually do staggered hatches, I'll need to start work on a separate hatcher soon. Do these project ever end???
