My auto turner on the MacGyverbator broke. The tab broke on the part that hooks to the motor shaft. No eggs were harmed. I turned them three times today and I'm trying to figure out how to fix the turner in a 15 minute window so the eggs don't get cold. The motor and timer work, but can't hook to the nest of eggs. I will have to fabricate something or deal with hand turning the whole incubation period. I am only on Day 5.

sigh

I haven't read the last 30 pages or so. I hope everyone is well.
Good night.

Oh no!!!! :hugs

Turned the brooder on its side, no more scary lady looming from above.
Yeah, if I can get the timing right, I'm building a brooder that I'm putting up on a table for the Easter chicks. Better for my back, and less scary looming...

Migraine today (it was actually starting last night, which I didn't realize until after the fact). Fortunately, not much pain, but dizziness, hard to read or look at a screen for long, and very tired. So I stayed home - better by about 4:30pm, so started in on the tractor build (chickens wait for no woman, and all that).

It's deja vu all over again!

I don't know how long I'll last tonight... But at least I'm all caught up here!

I'll be bringing him inside in a little while to give him a better once over, I'm going to try to weigh him and his girl. He downed a bowl of yougurt so he does have an appetite still. I may get a better shot of some poo once he's inside.

Here are my two polish I got last year from mcmurrays. The white one is a little dingy but she can't see a darn thing. Mcmurrays has good video of the chicks to id the little buggers. They lay well but small eggs.

OUCH
@Sally Sunshine can sour crop mimic worms?

My Ameruacana roo is seriously underweight and I'm pretty sure he has sour crop, I noticed his poo has been really runny and soft with small bits of red in it, where as his hen has normal poo.

I was going to worm him, but when I went to snuggle him is when I felt his crop is squishy and he was under weight, the hen is normal seeming weight, maybe a little light but her crop feels fine.

Should I still worm them and treat him for sour crop at the same time?

These birds are gonna kill me, my hubby says I have 2 weeks to get them better or he's gonna cull them....
@casportpony this is more her area I never treated it to be honest. never had it. I think because we dont free range anything I dont run into some of this stuff?????
