I am going to be shipping some eggs from PA to GA. What is the best day of the week to send them, Mondays?

I'm trying out a foam egg shipper that fits a regular priority mail container and was going to pay for "special handling" so it (hopefully) gets treated gently. I'm thinking of putting it all into another box with additional padding just in case that will help even more. Good idea, or "overkill" if I pay for special handling?
My eggs from PA to CA were in a box in a box with extra padding.

Phewweeee been cleaning brooders and its humid today!! QUESTION: So I did have two metal trough brooders in my garage...but my 2.5week olds that were in the largest trough (AN EXTRA LONG metal trough) were getting too big together to be in it much longer. (As many as there are)

My younger chicks are in the standard metal trough brooder.
I ended up with a giant cardboard box (like a full pallet gets shipped in) so I modified it and put an ecoglow 50 in it but here's my question...

I was thinking of taking half of the 2.5 week olds (so 17) and putting them in the gigantic pallet box brooder and then putting the other half back in the gigantic trough brooder. (We're building a new grow out pen this weekend)

Or should I move my smaller chicks (which there are about 30 of) from the smaller trough to the big trough? And put half the 2.5 weeks olds in the smaller trough?

Also, when is the soonest you move them to a grow out pen (ours will have coop and run on it for them) we're building it this weekend but wasn't planning to move them yet. My oldest group will be 3 weeks old on Monday.

Thannnnnks! Back to cleaning for a bit...!!

I'd split the big ones between the two bigger brooders. What are you day and night lows lately?

IMO, there's no such thing as "overkill" with the USPS
