Well, she squished the runt, but it was not as mobile as well as being small. It is still sad. For a first litter eleven healthy is good for me. She will sell with them.
So sorry to hear about the little piglet.

And canoe naw it's gonna keep snowing for days.......

Phil,
If it's any consolation, we have snow forecast for the next two days and then sun, clear skies and temps in the 60's mid week.
Hopefully this is the last bit of winter I have to redirect your way! :gig
Keep warm, and dry, and get out after those steelhead if you get a chance this week! :frow

For those that process extra boys as roasting chickens what age do you usually aim for?

It varies by breed. Egg breeds are pretty scrawny even as adults so it's a crap shoot.
For my Black Penes, I process when the crowing gets me down. That could be anywhere from 5 months to 8 months. Mostly after I decide who I'm culling.

Are there any autosexing breeds besides legbars? (not hybrids)

Crele Penedesencas are autosexing. Grey males, brown females.
Black Penedesencas are clear on sex after about 3 weeks. Males will grow combs and pullets won't for a couple months.
Barred varieties of breeds can be too but I'm unfamiliar enough not to claim I know.

Good morning everyone!
Quick update-
Candled eggs in bator last night after fan failure/replacement
Several clears, but most all showing good progress/development
Some eggs too dark to see clearly, but suspect still viable!

Whites, caught your comment about fan wiring yesterday. Wiring plenty heavy enough for load, fans have been re-purposed from old computers, so probably old age rather than wiring issues. Almost out of used ones, might have to break down and buy some new ones.

...
I go from one extreme to the other with fans. I have a bank of 4 fans to draw air across the eggs. I went with the cheapest ones first and they were overwhelmed by dust after about a year or so. I then went with the most powerful.
I realized none of the power supplies I had on hand could power 4 of them so I put them on a switch so I could run 2 for a hatch and then run the other 2 for the next hatch. They all have removable filters so I'm good.

I hate seeing that. However, you're better off without a runt.

Lots of work to get done today.
@MotorcycleChick I was waiting for you to get here, but I HAVE to run
