Believe it or not, I HAD one... It was from last year and plastic. They were in there for a day, and we got a hail storm that turned the thing into swiss cheese! I had to take it down and haven't had the opportunity to make one. I thought about maybe an old fish tank upside down raised off the ground a little. I'll have to think of something...
Isn't plastic sheeting relatively inexpensive? I've not built one, ever, but I might build a couple; one for a small greenhouse & one for a hoop coop for a covered run for the coop I'm building for my young stock; seems a whole lot simpler than posts & wire on this sloping, rocky ground I'm camped on. I'd need some guidance for the ends, but that's what Jack is for; he built one.

Okay I have no experience with "grafting" but this sounds very interesting. Is the purpose of it to hybridize the plant? Gardening isn't something I've done a great amount of research on, I've just been kind of learning as I go...

Yes the root stock called Maxifort is a hybrid. It won't grow more of the same unfortunately as they are really proud of their seeds. The root stock is super resistant to tomato diseases. I grafted two years back but didn't take the time last year. It makes quite a difference. The roots grow incredibly large and long. Supposed to be more drought tolerant due to that as well. Usually when the plants are finished for the winter I can pull the non grafted plants right up. Not so with the grafted ones. They are becoming more popular now and I've seen some in stores but they are pricey

Great idea! I have tanks from 10-55 gallons all over.

The dose I have been told to use is 125 mg/kg. Will your capsule dissolve in water? If so, dissolve capsule in 10 ml of water and give 0.15 ml (3.75 mg) twice a day.

Why do you want to give such a small chick antibiotics?

-Kathy

Yes that would work. You just open the capsule and dissolve the powder in water.

Just trying to learn and figuring out dosages for chickens.

I am not planning on giving it at this time. I have a chick that doesn't want to eat or drink.

Small chicks can be tube fed, but you will need a small tube to do it. Size 6 or 8 french catheter.

I've been putting all of my research time into chickens... It looks like I NEED to read up on this. Thanks for sharing this info!

Good morning everyone!

Good morning everyone!

Kathy

Good morning Kathy. I was going to ask you about the pros and cons of earth worms. Most of my chickens won't eat them but some do. I've been raising them on the kitchen green waste and now have begun to get enough to feed. Ive heard drying them makes it more palatable to them. Are there really diseases to watch for?

Good morning everyone!
Hope everyone is having a great day
