[Fire Ant Farm]

OK, so my neck just seized up and is making a horrible crunchy sound - so some of that lifting and twisting stuff today apparently didn't go well (previous car accident --> ruptured cervical disc --> arthritis --> intermittent unavoidable ouchies). So I had to come in for pain meds - taking the opportunity to post photos from my desktop.

I found a HUGE grub in one of the bags of composted mulch I was moving. Like, really huge. This is my thumb in this photo - not sure if it comes across as huge as it actually was, because it's curled on its side here. It was a full inch wide and about three inches long stretched out.



I made the "food" noise and threw it in the Naked Neck paddock and Sweetie swooped down on it, and spent the next 15 minutes running around with a grub almost as large as her head hanging from her mouth, making those "I've got food, I've got food" sounds. She enjoyed it greatly (as she got to eat most of it), and great fun was had by all.

And @Ur-ur-ur-urrr , here are the belated photos, because I moved the Naked Necks into their new paddock today. Before and after. They were deliriously happy with the new grass... I'm going to actually get proper grass seed (meant for wild fowl forage, from King Seeds) and re-seed the bare dirt so it'll be even better next time they switch.




OK, this neck thing is really sucking wind. I think I need to lie down. If I'm not back tonight, see you guys later.

Well that's some hard work (at least for me), so good for you !

I got the yard partially mowed, some other yard clean up done, lots of heavy bags of mulch and soil amendments moved (ow), all my potted citrus trees moved (there are a lot), and the new NN paddock set up.

Now I'm out in my newly beloved hammock swing drinking an adult beverage (ok, several) and watching the stars come out. On my iPad, not used to doing BYC on this thing...

How's the stars? iPad is all I have and its old. Did you catch the question I had about flys and how to trap the smaller stable or cattle fly. Does your trap you set up catch them? Not to mess up your adult beverage with a fly question.

Brit's last prom and my last child to graduate. Big sister helped her get ready and big brother is her and her (girl)friend's designated driver. I imagine there will be a little party'ing going on and then everybody is staying here tonite.
