They getting enough calcium, like oyster shell? I don't use oyster shell myself, but I do give them all the empty shells from the kitchen. I've never had what you describe from anything except brand-new layers

They get layer feed, and all the other's eggs are tough to crack.

what did you win?

Chicken apron and 15 eggs from sally!

Bubbles in so busy i haven't Been around the thread much... But I'm assuming you got your ducklings... I'm so happu for you.... Enjoy and give them lots of love..... Ducks are so awesome.... You'll get allot back from them..... Phil

Thank you so much. I am having a blast with them, they run to the front of the brooder when I come in the room...... :love

I now suspect my previous ducks might have been mallard mixes, as they were crazy terrified of me, even as day-olds.

@ChickenCanoe- a few months back, I had what I assumed was MG run through the flock. These girls were just a few months old, and they had runny noses and were a bit on the skinny side. Aftera few months, (I was a brand-new chicken keeper) it cleared up on its own in most of the chickens. Fast-forwarding to about a month ago, I realized what was wrong and treated with Denagard. That made the symptomatic chickens normal again. Do you think it could have been IB? If so, why would it only effect one chicken? It is Muffin who is laying these. Oh, a few months back she had what could only be described as sudden collapse.
