I get it.....
And a few strips for me...
So about my bed time.....:th

I knew you would Phil!
I will add several extra.
And yes, I guess that is why we keep missing each other on here.

How did those tomatoes turn out?
Mine are all about a foot high already, I was hardening them off the past few days, then we got hit with snow showers this morning, and tonight's overnight temps are supposed to dip to the low twenties.
I will have to start the whole process over again Sunday when they say we will be back to mid sixties. :idunno

:ep

That's tough weather to grow anything. Do you use row covers? My tomatoes are about 10 inches. But I buried 12 inches of them to start.

My Orpington's took closer to a year too start laying. Not to proud of that. They are laying great now. Most days I get 5-6 out of 6 hens. Don't think I'm going to keep this line going.
There are 9 hens and we are getting 4 eggs a day. That count had better go up!!! 5 out of 6 isn't bad. Was it because of the slow start that you want to get rid of the line?

That's typical spring here, 5-6 days in the sixties, then one or two in the thirties, then right back to sixties and seventies.
That cycle usually lasts till the end of May.
I do raised beds for most of our tomatoes, peppers, and other tender veggies with cover later in the year.
I have tried covers in the spring, but have lost the temperature battle too many times.
I just keep them in my sunroom until the end of May now, transplanting to successively bigger pots until the weather cooperates.
I usually plant them six to eight inches deep when the go out permanently

When my egg counts drop below 12 -14 from our 20 egg birds, I just start to mumble about chicken soup, chicken pot pie, roast chicken, and bbq chicken. Our flock seems to get the message pretty quick when I do that. :gig
