The one is on 12 hours from initial pip and the other has been trying to zip at an angle for like 18 hours or so so a good 24 hours trying to get out. It had a crooked air cell, I'm not 100% sure it's ok but I didn't want to rush in and operate in anyway until I was sure it couldn't get out. I've pulled it off for this situation successfully before but I dislike helping like this... I'm concerned the chick is very mis positioned and the if the shell has dried out at all it bad.. I also can't see the beak im not sure what's happened 100% not cool. I'm trying not to worry but I think it's going to need help if it's not harmed itself

the other bird is fine it's just taking it's sweet time I think. Three have hatched since these guys started and I think that the one of these ones is rather small because of how it's pecking on the inside of the egg which is weird since the others are BIG chicks I think. I'm going to go check them and the 6 lazy eggs when my husband gets back from his no crow rooster expirament. The roosters won't shut it and one of our kids begged me to let him stay and I ordered the collars and my husband was watching youtube videos about them and I saw that and he was pleased to hear they were on their way lol. Hope it works because I'm not having the crowing anymore!! If the 6 would just hatch I could help the other egg without being do worried about things err. Do you think I should pull it and see if it's ok or wait another few hours or ? And 12+ hours is ok from pip to hatch right? Every year putting all this straight in my head is just like taking a calculus test two years after your last class lol

From pip to hatch can take up to 24 hrs. The one that's been stuck zipping from a weird angle may need help. Have you read the assisted hatching article?

You might also want to PM or tag Joey (Ur-ur-ur....) ; I believe he built one that fills from the top & flows into a lateral pipe with feeding holes spaced out along its length. If it wasn't him, you'll find several on the "Show Me Your Feeders" thread I mentioned earlier. Good Luck, whichever way you go,
@Ur-ur-ur-urrr
Neat :) I just talked to my husband about it and he's all on about good idea now we need to reinforced a few things and fix a more appropriate house into it... I think it's about to really turn into something !!

Are you only using weight loss? Or are you also checking the air cells to gauge what your humidity should be at?

Weighing Eggs, why and HOW TO! post #70097
I am also measuring their air cell as well. One has a saddled air cell and the others range between being on target to being way too small. The last egg has the smallest. Its my darkest brown egg.

Darker eggs typically need lower humidity to lose the appropriate amount of weight. Are you using weight loss to gauge your humidity or do you also have a calibrated hygrometer?

I'm pretty sure, w/o going back & checking, that the articles on the first couple pages of the thread address that situation. If you do't find what you need there, jump back in here most anytime & someone can probably walk you through it.
I read it over twice and unless I am missing something, it doesn't really talk about different eggs in one bator. I know I read somewhere to keep it steady for those that are on target. I would just hate to loose the ones that are behind. I am currently running without water in there because they still are slightly behind. Also, the one that is saddled... am I going to loose that egg?
