Oregon! how exciting!!! I bet she loves going but I bet she misses her momma.

Oh Kathy! what an exciting trip that will be across country! Oh the things to stop and see! I am amazed she does well for that long though, what will you drive? I love the north east, so lovely and cool. She has to have her merrygorounds eh lol I bet you have to back a truckload of snacks and stuff to do for the ride.
Thanks Sally, on the first trip she took cross country, she slept more than anything else. Not sure what we will drive. No plans just yet, we are still trying to set up time frames for visiting family!

so you got the heat pads and the chicks are warm I am assuming? not sure I got that right? lol
Congrats on the babies! what color are the fly tie chicks?
Chicks are in the incubator still. They have water and food and I dropped the temp a tiny bit. They will have to wait until tonight for me to set up the heat pad. They could share the brooder with the Mille Fleur D'uccles, they are still SO tiny they are off by themselves.

here's a not great photo of the foot most affected, I'm worried something happened to her or something
looks like infection bumblefoot is staph so be cautious it needs opened and cut out. look it up online think the chickenchick has a good read on removal
and when you squeeze it out it takes muscle and wear safety glasses the infection can fly out and get you in the eye and again ITS STAPH INFECTION be cautious!!

And I will try to pull up a picture of her calico turkeys Sally.

Sally here are her Calico turkeys. She is the only breeder in the country who has them.

really?> she imported them?
Well, that was terrifying.....

Looked out the window, and saw a hawk swooping for one of the RSL pullets. Ran out there like a screaming idjit! I got there just in time, Jace, her chicks, and the EHAL babies were all cornered too.

That could have turned out VERY badly.

Thankfully, the pullet he got is okay, a few feathers missing but nothing else. Now the hawk knows, though.

Lucky (my favorite EHAL chick) was missing for a good ten minutes, gave me a panic attack until he came racing out of the woods, terrified, before trying to hide under me! Poor guy!

Chickens are locked up for now, until I build saftey huts for them.

too funny.... banti standing looking out the window doing dishes in her apron seeing a hawk running out screaming banging pots and pans to keep her babies safe

Does anyone know of any plants that I should grow that I should feed my chickens? I'm trying to get together a chicken garden.

Sure do, 2 of them, actually, but they won't fit through the 1/4" mesh. It occurred to me that I might be able to push both ends of a zip tie through one side, then thread the ends together on the other side.
