My son just got home from work and had a rough day. His restaurant is on Main Street in the historic district of Missouri's First Capitol. There are over 20 restaurants on that street but only 4 were open today because of Memorial Day.
He was one of only 3 cooks covering 5 stations, no dishwasher and they were slammed all day. They were running out of food because they were so busy over the weekend and nowhere to buy more food today.
They had sold $6,000 of food by 4PM.

He used to be the kitchen manager there and told the manager they would be slammed, needed more food than what they had on hand, needed more cooks plus a dishwasher. Didn't happen.

:hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs For him

Because they're managers and know better - than even the guy that used to be their boss.

He's already off to a friend's barbeque.

Back to the Penedesenca story. I know most people like docile calm birds but this breed is soooo much easier to raise than anything I've had before. I used to have the largest breed - Jersey Giants. Black, Blue and White. I loved them but they would fly over a 6' fence if there were tomatoes on the other side. People call these birds flighty but they won't do that.

For him

Hugs back at ya! He was home about 5 minutes when he headed out for a barbeque.

It gets worse. Wife who bartends the same restaurant just got home. No hostess, no food runner and not enough servers. Inside and patio were packed all day.
No dishwasher is a problem for everyone. The cooks have to wash dishes while they're slammed with over 20 tickets backed up all day.
They claim my son gave the wrong routing number for direct deposit and they can't figure out where his money is and he hasn't been paid in 3 weeks.
It is a very successful chain of 7 family run Welsh restaurants. My whole family has worked there. I even did maintenance there for a while. Weird with the whole family getting checks from the same small business.
They are tightwads but people that work there do so because it is busy. Wife has been there 16 years, daughter has been there 13 years and it has provided the funds to send her around the world.
All the manager has to do is look at the numbers from last year and they know how busy they're going to be.
Making it worse, this weekend was also the Irish Festival. My daughter worked yesterday serving and rang $1800. Their walkin cooler isn't big enough for 3 days worth of food at those volumes. They have 32 draft beers and started running out of staple beers today.
My son just posted on Facebook. "Today was World War Llywelyn's. Memorial Day is now for those that worked today."

Whoever asked me about the potable water hoses. I bit the bullet and bought three 50 footers from HD. I could have had them delivered to the store up the street but didn't think 100' would be enough and by buying 3 they are being delivered to my house for no charge. They should be here by Wednesday. Then I can fill my barrels worry free.
I'll just use them for that and filling founts, then drain and roll them up.

Hi Banti. I have an LG - I think thats what you have? I have some tubing that i feed through the open vent hole and a syringe. I squirt water onto a puppy pad i have under the eggs.

Good luck!!!

This chick is from our 4/16 (ish) hatch. I looked at different threads to post and ask for possible help on identifying the breed, but there are so many different threads, I wasn't sure where to ask.
Any ideas? It came from a bunch of mixed eggs, but it doesn't look like any of the others. And it thinks it's a turkey- coloring is just like our bronze turkeys that have been raised with it. It's always hanging out with the turkeys.
