So far one of the Ayem Cemani, a silkie and a frizzled EE have hatched in the Brinsea. Lots of pips in both 'bators. It will be a LONG night!!!!

I just tried candling my eggs I got in the mail. Some I cannot see an air cell at all.
I am going to have to hand turn 12 eggs. How should I choose which ones to hand turn? I could order another turner but it would take a week to get here.. The 15 eggs I bought turned into to 44.

Well, I had something tiny tiny hatch..under some cute Society Finches. It's so cute how the take turns sitting on the eggs. Got my camera out to see if I could get a photo..see that tiny pink thing? It's a baby Finch. Tiny! Hope it lives. The 4 of them all crowd in there at night to sleep.

But I'm posting because I wanted to say that, while I'm not sure, I THINK I see veins in the candling picture above - don't give up. I got to where when I candled, I mostly just looked to see if I could see defined veins (best seen nearer to air cell), then I would mark the air cell and put it back (giving up on trying to see more definition). I was candling blue green eggs, also hard to see.

Yes, thank you, it does help. The one you think you see veins in is the most promising one so far. I'll candle again on day 14 and see what I can see. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough!

I would think it would be good, it is similar to celery in consistency, but very tart, it would be good with duck i think because it is a sweeter meat

Heat 3 liters to 85C put in 1 glass of plain vinegar, drain to a musslin or some other kind of cloth and you have cheese for breakfast!
