Why can't he be ridden without the eye? Blind horses can be.


I have seen a lot of one eyed ponies at 3 day events

Don't know that he be much good for jumping, but he's certainly still a good saddle horse, though he might be a little spooky on his blind side.

Thanks for the encouragement. He will probably be ridden again, but not sure he can be her jumping horse. She is about to outgrow him, and not sure he can recover and she can learn how to ride him with his one eye before she is completely too big for him, she is only 9 years old. :) I feel certain he will always be her favorite no matter what. I just spent some time reading stories about one eyed horses, and feeling more confident now. I will be able to at least sugar-coat it now when I tell her he lost his eye this morning.
