(Can I confess something? I live alone - which is fine - but my fear is always that some thing horrible will happen to me and I won't be able to get help. When I was in high school, a friend's father fell off a two story ladder when working alone and had to drag himself to the curb to get help. I tend to text a friend and say "I'm about to start working on the roof because there's a panel that's about to blow off" just to let them know, in case something happens...)

Yes, it's the one I have. I can't recall the size right now, but I think I can fit 16 pint jars. My first canning experience was the Super Bowl of 2015. I was canning potatoes. I absolutely love having it exclamation I will especially like having it when I have to process. Since I have lost my freezer.
I too live alone. My neighbors would as soon leave me for dead. That is assuming I was even outside when the accident happened! I also worry about getting hurt, and no one knowing about it. Is probably more scary when Duckling is here. I have to worry about what will happen to her! She will be fine for a while, but obviously can't get outside to go to her grandmother's next-door.
I always feel stupid texting someone to let them know that I am about to do a project. On occasion, I do it anyway. Better to feel stupid, then have something happen and no one knows. I can say that I especially did that when my husband and I were out on the motorcycle on the back roads. Very few cars means very few people to find us. During the summer, my voicemail message was always that if I didn't answer, I was on the motorcycle.

I actually really like being alone (I prefer it most of the time, honestly), I just like to have that back up sometimes in case something happens...

Yes, it does tenderize older meat. I really like that the meat/food is always room temperature. I can get something out, and not have to defrost it. As long as I can properly, I never have to worry about the food spoiling. Power outages happen a lot here!
Plus, the meet is always ready for a chicken salad sandwich or buffalo chicken pizza!

Our beautiful Biel roo just attacked our 6 year old... She told me he did it yesterday too- I didn't believe her and had her go in the run where he couldn't see me. He's only 4 months old, with no spurs yet. He indeed came around the run, right for her, with his hackle feathers puffed and his chest out. I had always said I'd have a no tolerance policy... He's so gorgeous, but not more than our little girl. I told her I was so sorry I didn't believe her and that Big Handsome would be gone by morning

There are many settings, and you can set it to only alert someone if you are inactive for so long, to take pictures at certain intervals, or to be tracked by a friend or family member via computer at anytime.
It has such a strong signal, that it can even be tracked in the middle of the ocean. If a family member gets worried, the police or Coast Guard can find you.

Are you thinking of the Spot? I actually got one of those - I use it when I hike and camp by myself for several days. It also has a "panic" button if you're life is in danger. It is reassuring to have it - I give the info to my parents or a friend. (But I still have the hike/float plan. I'm the paranoid type...)

edit to add: You have to have a subscription/service plan with it. I had that plan when I was hiking all the time or fishing. I've been a homebody a lot lately, so I let it lapse, not worth the cost if I'm always at home with the chickens...
