Your 2025 Garden

Yesterday I picked/thinned some of the white turnips, (Miyama Wase Kokabu from Baker Creek), and cooked them this evening. They were delicious, 2" roots were tender, greens were mild, more like spinach or Swiss chard. I'm ordering more seeds for the Spring.

I'm waiting patiently for my sunflowers to ripen enough that I can save the seeds to roast. Usually the birds get to them way before me but(knock on wood) they are leaving one head alone so far

The squirrels decided I could have 1 fig this year.
It was sweet and tasty. Maybe next year I will have enough to make a batch of preserves. I've got to remember to put tops on the cages.

I found a good guy when I was doing a bug search in the garden.

I've been doing a lot of watering and weeding.
Working on cleaning up the strawberries. Still have more to do here.
Hoping for rain maybe mid week.
Plants are filling out in the garden. A good soaking rain would really help.
I found a sweet potato sprout in the garden. I wonder how many tiny ones I missed? 🤣

I'm seeing small heads forming on the cabbage.
